Childcare, Starting In The Nursery
Our nursery is the place to just love our little ones. A place for infants, crawlers, and walkers, these kids want to be safe and secure while they are out of sight of their parents.
The kids are watched very closely. The nursery is staffed with enough adults to handle the potential number of kids at any given time. The kids are signed in and out by the same parent/guardian who wears an I.D. bracelet for best safeguards.
This ministry is often seeking parents, grandparents, parent-wanna-bees and adults who just want to offer tender loving care. Be sure to consider this ministry as one of yours! Contact our Nursery Director, Patty Heath, for questions, ideas, and volunteer services.
Our Sick Child Policy
Any child showing signs of illness, such as fever, coughing, runny nose due to illness, diarrhea, or watery eyes will not be admitted out of respect and concern for other children and childcare workers. We don't want to spread seasonal bugs or serious infections!
Childcare Volunteers Screening Class
The Childcare Screening Class consists of filling out a formal application to work with children and youth, from infancy through high school. All church members, including pastors and staff, go through this process. This is just one of the ways that we protect our children and safeguard our volunteers.
Along with the application, we hire a professional security organization to do fingerprinting checks and criminal background checks. A 30-minute video teaches appropriate childcare procedures and explains the problems with abuse.
These classes scheduled and conducted on an as-needed basis by Patti
Galegher, who can be reached through the church
office.
